Rubicon Trail Maintenance with San Luis Obispo County Crawlers (Part 2)
In this episode of SnailTrail4x4, Jimmy Jet and Jason continue on the Rubicon with their friends from San Luis Obispo County Crawlers (SCC) aka SLO County Crawlers. We were invited to go out on their annual Rubicon Trail Maintenance trip. This was much more than a wheeling trip, we were finally able to give back the trail we have enjoyed for so many years.
Day 2 The day didn’t involve much wheeling, but lots of moving rocks and making concrete. We wheeled down to the base of the Indian Trail and turned onto the Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) land. Normally this trail is closed but we were going to be doing maintenance on the trail for the grand opening that happens in a few weeks.
After a long days work we head back to spider lake for a swim, and relax by the fire. Day 3 Woke up early because SCC had a long day ahead of them. we were on the trail by 6:30 am to head back to Loon Lake. The trip was quick and uneventful with us getting back in record time.
