Internal/External Cage 1985 Toyota 4Runner

Internal/External Cage 1985 Toyota 4Runner

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you cut off all your body panels and decided to cage your off-road rig? I am super excited to be able to give you a rig walk around with my good buddy Russell he’s got a 1985 Toyota 4Runner that has had all the body panels removed more or less everything is strip down and as simple as you can make it. Probably the only two things that are stock on this vehicle or the frame and the rear axle.

Russell purchases this vehicle from a gentleman down in Santa Cruz, and he had built it up almost exactly as you see it today. Russell has done a few different mods and upgrades to the vehicle since he has owned it. The 4Runner has a 22R propane powered motor. The power of the propane takes a little getting used to. I feel that you need to give it more pedal than the typical gasoline engines. The Supertramp exhaust system on the long tube headers with the propane motor has a very distinct noise.

Riding on 36 inch Super Swampers and locked front and rear this vehicle goes nearly everywhere. Since all the body parts have been removed and even including some of the firewall for improved visibility. There are a number of ways that you can get yourself in and out of trouble with this rig.
